This summer 2022, we traveled to Mexico twice. The first trip was to Guadalajara City and surrounding areas during June. The second trip was to Chiapas during the month of July.
Guadalajara was a last-minute trip because a friend from Arizona was having a Spanish language theatre production of one of his plays and we wanted to celebrate such achievement. We arrived a week before the "estreno" and during Pride week so the city was in party mode at all times.
In Guadalajara, another friend from Arizona, who every summer goes to Guadalajara, was already there, waiting for us. He served as our tour guide for city spots and surrounding areas. We visited different places and took a couple of tours, despite the heat, which was unbearable.
Once the whole group was finally together, we not only went to the opening night of the play but we also went to the symphony and, of course, ate like we had no tomorrow.
It was an enjoyable 12-day trip filled with art, food, entertainment, and laughter. It went by very quickly.
