WHEN IN LONDON... VISIT AMSTERDAM PART 5

ALL IMAGES ARE COPYRIGHTED AND THEY ARE MY PROPERTY. THEY ARE NOT PUBLIC DOMAIN

Museums! Lots of them in Amsterdam and many with some of the most amazing collections. This is the Rijksmuseum, holding thousands of paintings of the Dutch's Golden Age in the 17th Century. Rembrandt's "The Night Watch" is here.

Amsterdam's History Museum is a "floating museum" and is divided into a building and an actual ship. And of course, there is a sex museum.

Perhaps the most visited museum of all is the Van Gogh Museum with paintings of Van Gogh's "Yellow House," "The Sunflowers," "The Bedroom," "Blossoming Almond Tree," "Irises," and "self-portrays," it is hard NOT to visit.  My favorite Van Gogh painting, "Starry Night" is not in this museum but in Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

Here are examples of his paintings.

Amsterdam University is very beautiful and located in the middle of the city.

Its buildings are a combination of the old and new architecture.

Here you have Ann Frank's House, one of the major tourist attractions.

And this is the monument dedicated to all homosexual people who died during WWII. The monument is composed of three different triangles which link together form one giant triangle. The rise triangle is located on the right of the plaza (second left up), the flat triangle is on the left of the plaza (first right bottom) and the third triangle is located by the near by canal. The three triangles are connected with a wide pink strip forming a giant triangle.

"Getto" was my favorite gay pub. Gay Point Info Center is located next to the Homomonument. The Gay Cinema is located across from "Getto" but far away from the monument.

Some of the gay clubs I visited. My favorite being "CHURCH," of course.
